We’ve been trying everything to stay entertained. Crafting, cooking, daily exercise, movie days, new story books, stickers, play-doh; you name it! It really can be difficult to keep entertained at home with a little one who hasn’t been out or seen anyone other than us for over six weeks!
That’s why we were so excited when we were gifted these amazing Spin Master Games. The look on my son’s face as we opened the parcel was priceless. Four fabulous boardgames to keep us occupied for hours and perfect for those not so sunny days in lockdown.

PinkFong Baby Shark Let’s Go Hunt Fishing Game

This has to be our absolute favourite. Yes, the song will drive you mad but it’s totally worth it as the game is such great fun! This game is perfect for my pre-schooler and great to improve little ones hand-eye coordination skills and finer motor skills.
The game need two AA batteries to get the board moving and the fish opening and closing their mouths. You each have a shark fishing rod and the aim of the game is to catch the most fish.
If your little ones loves Baby Shark as my son does, this game is perfect!
Players: 2 to 4
Ages: 4+ (but I would say suitable for some 3 year olds too)

Hedbanz

This ‘what am I?’ game is so much fun and had us in stitches, especially me! It’s pretty self-explanatory. You have to ask ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions to discover what you are. You can be anything from popcorn to a tortoise! My son preferred answering the questions. Oh and as you can see from the video below he was a little too helpful, but he’s only just turned four. Plus he made laugh so much!
Players: 2 to 6 players
Ages: 7+ (although much younger if you’re ‘flexible’ with the rules!)

Jumanji, the next level

This game was a little bit too old for my son to enjoy but there was nothing stopping me and my husband from playing, I love the Jumanji films! However, even though I’m (supposedly) a fully fledged grown up I did find the instructions confusing and wasn’t sure exactly how we were meant to play.
Fortunately a fellow blogger came to the rescue with a really helpful blog, How to play Jumanji the next level board game
If your kids love Jumanji then this is a really good game to get them – once you’ve got your head round how it actually works! It involves strategy with the aim of the game being to defeat the enemies.

Otrio

Again this one is a little too old for my son, but not for us! In fact it is the perfect game to play if you’re having a date night at home or for older children.
The aim of the game is to outsmart your opponents by getting three in a row and also by stopping them get three in the row. It’s perfect to help encourage your kids to strategise and develop their critical thinking skills. As there are three ways to win, it keeps you on your toes too! I’m looking forward to playing this with my son when he’s a bit older.
