Well it’s official. It’s summer school holidays, I’ve booked some time off work for fun days out with my son, and the weather is horrendous!! Gales and rain, more rain and a little bit more rain!! So thank goodness we were sent these amazing Tonka Toys from the Tonka Mighty Metal Fleet to review!

We were gifted the Dump Truck and Garbage Truck from the Tonka Toys Mighty Metal Fleet to review. The undisputed kings of the sandbox, these new sized toys from Tonka literally will keep your kids entertained for hours. My four year old son hasn’t stopped playing with them.

The Dump Truck from the Tonka Mighty Fleet and Garbage Truck from the Tonka Mighty Fleet are both made from real steel, ensuring ‘Tonka tough’ endurance. Great for encouraging role-play fun and creativity within children as well as encouraging independent play.

Play with the Tonka Mighty Metal Fleet Inside or Outside

What I love most about the Mighty Fleet Tonka Trucks is that they are perfect for either inside or outside play. If it’s raining you can pile up your lego blocks inside to create a building site. Or if there’s a break in the rain, what could possibly be more fun then putting on your wellies and finding a muddy puddle to create your construction scene. For those sunny days they are perfect to take to the beach and make tracks in the sand.

Because of their size you can take them anywhere with you. Wherever you are, whatever the weather they are so much fun for little imaginations!

Imaginative Play

As already mentioned Tonka Toys are such good quality. They are also great for little imaginations. Imaginative play is just so important in our busy lives. My son is always being rushed here to there. Like many families these days, we are always on the go. To have toys like these Tonka trucks is perfect to help my son relax, let go, have fun and just play!

There are also many benefits to imaginative play including improving social and language skills, encouraging creativity and supporting problem making skills. So these Tonka Toys are a win win!

Each Tonka construction toy comes with a bonus collector card, which adds to the fun. We cut ours out and now plan on collecting the rest of the range to complete our Mighty Metal Fleet collection.

About Tonka

TONKA have been established for almost 70 years. They originated back in 1947 in Minnesota, created and manufactured by Mound Metalcraft, manufacturers at the time of garden implements. The company began to sell metal toys, which soon became their primary business. In 1955 Mound Metalcraft changed it’s name to TONKA Toys incorporated. Generations of children have benefited from these marvellous toys ever since.

You can see why the Tonka toys have stood the test of time. They are so well made I still have some from my own childhood (many many years ago!). They manage to capture children’s imagination and adapt with the times. As vehicles have evolved so have Tonka, and that’s why we still love them so much today.
