Living Arrows 43/53 (2018)

This is my first Living Arrows blog post so forgive me if I get it slightly wrong! My idea of Living Arrows is that it’s a snapshot into your life with your kids each week so here is my favourite picture of my boy, being his typical cheeky, happy and mischievous self. His batman hat is a size too small now but he loves it and I haven’t got round to buying him a new one, so we’re making do!

We’ve had a very quiet weekend after the mayhem that was Disneyland Paris a couple of weekends ago – blog post and vlogs to follow soon. I have the Disneyland blues and couldn’t help thinking all weekend, “this time two weeks ago we were doing…”. So, there was nothing for it but one of those cosy weekends at home, seeing no one and doing as little as possible.

What we watched: Movies – ET and Suicide Squad. TV – Haunting of Hill House (scary) and The Good Place (very funny)

What we ate: Friday night Indian takeaway, Saturday night homemade surf n turf and Sunday slow roast lamb, Yorkshire Puddings and all the trimmings.

What we drank: Coffee (lots of it), Peppermint tea and some of the French Wine we brought back with us.

What we played: Toy Story, train tracks, cars and most exciting of all Mario Party on the Wii Switch. Sam’s a little too young for this still, but me and OH love it – hahah!!

Where we went: Nowhere (apart from the supermarket and a walk in the woods and to the fields by our house to fly the drone) – we hibernated.

What we planned: Our next trip to Disneyland Paris!!

Sam is growing up so fast, I just can’t keep up. Each day he is saying something new and he has me and his dad in stitches with the funny things he comes out with. I just LOVE how two year olds view the world and even though it can be very daunting for them, they see so much magic all around them. Here are some of the funny and adorable things my son has said this week

“You’re a good boy mummy.” (well actually I’m a girl, but we do say that to you a lot so I’ll let you off this time Sam).

“They’re not socks, they’re gloves” (as he runs around with socks on his hands and I run after him frantically trying to get them on his feet and ready for nursery).

“There’s mummy’s boobies.” (pointing at my boobs in a very busy supermarket at the top of his voice – thanks for letting everyone doing their weekend shop know Sam)!

“Sam go to work with mummy?” (well that would be lovely and mummy would love that but not sure if the office would cope with the little whirlwind that is my boy)!

“It’s not bedtime, it’s wake up times.” (no, it’s definitely bedtime Sam)!

‘Mummy is a princess. You’re a princess mummy.’ (ahhh – love him…and you’re my little Prince Sammy).
