If you’re looking for some inspiration for a fantastic gift for your kids this Christmas, then look no further! My son and I are reviewing a Geomag set; the Geomag Mechanics Challenge Strike.
It’s no secret if you read my blog that I love educational toys. When you combine educational toys with something that you know your kids will love, you are on to a winner. Children are more likely to learn through games, which are more interactive and engaging. And that is the main reason why I think the Geomag Mechanics Challenge Strike makes an amazing present for kids for Christmas or any time of year!

Mechanics for kids
Kids love to build and create things. And they have a lot of imagination! They can use their creativity to come up with new ideas and inventions with the help of some simple tools. But before they can do that, they need to learn the basics of mechanics.
Mechanics is a science that deals with the way forces act on objects and how these objects move as a result of these forces. It includes studying the properties of materials, stress, force, energy, motion and torque. Mechanics is also an engineering discipline that studies how mechanical forces can be applied or transmitted through physical systems such as machines or structures to produce motion and change in energy states.
There are many ways for kids to learn about mechanics: books, toys, and hands-on activities. But one thing all kids need is something that will inspire them to explore more about this fascinating topic! Introducing, Geomag Mechanics Challenge Strike!

Geomag Mechanics Challenge Strike

First, you build the construction, and then you can play! The Geomag Mechanics Challenge Strike can either be played alone or in competition with others, where precision, timing and dexterity are the keys to victory. There are 185 individual parts, so both the construction itself and the subsequent gaming experience are challenging and educational for everyone involved. It’s also a whole lot of fun! For 1-4 players. From 7 years old.

My son and I spent a perfect Saturday afternoon building the board and setting up the game. There are clear instructions which your children can follow to build it. Constructing the game board is an achievement and challenge in itself. Your kids will be so pleased and proud once the game is ready and they are all set to play.

In order to win you need to skillfully use the magnetic marbles to get the gravity motor running, and then knock down the pins. The more pins you knock down the more points you get. It’s really exciting and you do have to think about how to use the magnetic marbles to get the motor moving.

My verdict
It’s fun and challenging. It’s quite complex to build so younger kids might need some support. It can be played alone but it’s even better fun to play together as a family or with friends. It supports STEM learning and will make a wonderful gift for Christmas. A great addition to your Geomag collection.
