Set a new lifestyle or career goal to challenge yourself

Firstly, it’s important to look at setting yourself up with a new goal, whether it’s for your lifestyle, career, or both. There’s always something that you might wish to achieve, but you put it off or don’t do it because it’s one thing that can be forgotten with everything else that’s going on in your life.

Your new goal might be to hit a financial goal so that you can pay towards a new home or car for your family. The new goal might be to climb your way up the ladder and get a promotion at work. There are certain goals that can be great to set in stone because it provides that motivation that you need so that you can get it done and not have to forget about it.

If you do that, then you might end up regretting not having reached it at some point in your life. A life with regrets is not something you want to have weighing you down on your shoulders.

Try something new

Fancy challenging yourself to one of these bike rides? Or perhaps you want to climb a mountain? Or why not try something new like knitting or doing a few DIY projects around the home.

Giving yourself a completely new project or objective can be great for spicing things up in your life and making it more refreshing. If you don’t do anything significant or out of the ordinary, daily life can end up passing you by quite quickly, and before you know it, you’re celebrating another birthday when your last one feels like yesterday.

Make the most of the day

Making the most of your day is one thing that many people might not do enough of when it comes to living your life. It’s worth looking at how you can really get the most out of your day whether that means getting up earlier or staying up later. By getting a full day of adventure, you’re making sure that each day is being lived as your last and that you’re challenging yourself to do more when it comes to your lifestyle.

Do something that scares you

Many of us will shy away from those challenges that scare us, but fear can certainly be a helpful thing to tackle. As long as it’s safe, it can be a self-building and motivating way of growing your character and life experiences. So do something that scares you more often. It could be sky-diving out of a plane to going to your first networking conference alone and speaking to strangers. We all have different fears and things that scare us so focus on what yours are.

Challenging yourself is important, so use these tips to find what could challenge you this year.
