Why we love Ricky Zoom

Family Values

Every morning before we have to go to school and work, we snuggle up in bed and watch cartoons. Just a short space of time to be together and to be quiet and still before the hectic day starts. Well I say ‘we’ watch cartoons. My son watches Milkshake and I check my inbox whilst having my first coffee of the day! That is until 7.40am when one of my son’s favourite shows, Ricky Zoom, comes on. I put my phone down, give my son a hug and we watch it together.

I find myself strangely drawn to Ricky Zoom and always end up watching to see what Ricky and the gang have been up to. It’s not just that there’s good storylines (and I’m a big kid at heart). I think it’s because its so relatable and it also shows such strong family values, that I love to watch it with my son.

Problem Solving with Ricky and his friends

Ricky and his buddies are resourceful, resilient and most importantly of all, kind to each other. As a parent of a four year old who is still in his first term of school it’s really good to have a TV show where the lead character and his friends think through and resolve their own problems, whilst knowing there is a supportive community on hand to help if need be.

That’s the great thing about Ricky Zoom. My son loves Ricky Zoom because it’s a cool show with motorbikes. I love the show as it represents values that I believe in.

Teaching children about charity: Barnardo’s Kidsmas Toddle with Ricky Zoom

Ricky Zoom is supporting leading children’s charity Barnardos this Christmas with its Barnardo’s Kidsmas Toddle with Ricky Zoom. There is nothing more incredible than children helping to support other children who need their help. Teaching children charity at Christmas is something that I think is really important so this is another reason why we love Ricky Zoom.

It’s free to sign up and a great way to raise funds for Barnados this year. We’ve signed up for this sponsored walk for under 5s and all of the family are taking part.

Ricky’s House Playset

My son’s face lit up when he saw Ricky’s House Playset. And I was impressed at how much he’s played with it and how it’s helped him be really creative when playing.

This toy definitely has the wow factor and I loved watching my son discover everything the playhouse can do. There are multiple ramps for Ricky and family to roll down, a tyre check station, and an elevator to get from floor to floor.

Being the Wheelford Rescue Headquarters as well as Ricky’s home, means that at the top of Ricky’s house is the rotating lookout platform, complete with a telescope!

The playset is a perfect gift for any Ricky Zoom fan. It comes with a Ricky Zoom action figure and it really got my son’s imagination going with all the extras, especially the sound effects and the Ricky Zoom song. My son also loved the bike launcher that speeds Ricky off across the room. All of this made it so much more than just a toy for my son.

I loved it as it’s big enough to have the wow factor but it doesn’t take up too much room in the house! You can detach the slides easily for storing. You will need 2 x AAA batteries (batteries not included). Recommended for ages 3-6. My son who is 4 loves it!!

The Ricky Zoom Family Pack

Of course Ricky’s House Playset is not complete without the rest of the family! This zoomtastic set includes Ricky Zoom, his sister Toot, Mum Helen and Dad Hank. The whole family of rescue bikes comes together in this pack and they’re ready for your child to get creative with imaginative play.

I was expecting these bike to keep toppling over but they have been designed so they stand upright. My son was so happy to have the whole family and has spent hours playing with them together.
