Planning the Perfect Girls’ Night In

Has it been a while since you all had a big catch up? If so, now’s the ideal time to book in a night in with your favourite friends.

To help you plan a lovely evening, here are some tips that are sure to make your evening perfect.

Set the mood

Make your home cosy. Choose soothing, dimmed lighting, light some fragranced candles, and put some soft music on to form the soundtrack to your evening.

Take the time to plan a playlist here. Do you want to keep to relaxing music or are you likely to want some upbeat tunes too? If you’re planning on having a chat, you might want to stick with a relaxing playlist but if this is going to be more of a party vibe, pop some of your go-to tunes on there.

Likewise, your décor will be led by the type of night in you have in mind. Fairy lights can be a lovely touch, or streamers and balloons can make it feel like a celebration.

Whether you’re keeping things low-key or not, make sure everyone will have somewhere to sit. Add some throws and cushions too.

Curate the menu

Snacks are ideal here. You could set up a table and fill it with finger sandwiches, crisps, dips, and other nibbles that are easy to prepare.

Alternatively, you could order a takeaway. Pizza is a great option for a girls’ night in as you can order a few options and everyone can grab a slice when they’re ready.

If you love baking, you might also want to try making them some sweet treats. You could try creating some classics like a lemon drizzle or a Victoria sponge or you may want to bake something seasonal. As we’re heading into late autumn, food is getting spicier so you might want to try creating gingerbread. Whatever you bake, your friends are sure to love it!

Choose the entertainment

You know your friends. What do they love most? Are they likely to want to watch some films? Or will a big, brash board game be more their pace? Do they love karaoke or are they likely to want to try online casino games?

Maybe a relaxing spa-themed evening is a better fit? Or an evening of crafting?

Take the time to think carefully about the type of activities that work well for you. You can always ask ahead of the evening. Maybe sending some suggestions will help you to whittle down your options?

Get comfy

Tell your friends to get comfortable. For your night in, why not tell them to come in their pyjamas and slippers? Even if you decide to play computer games, you can all do it in the cosiest, comfiest way possible. This invites an atmosphere of relaxation and fun, stripping away any formality that might inhibit the true enjoyment of each other’s company. By setting a theme of comfort, you encourage everyone to be themselves, share laughs more freely, and enjoy the evening without any pretence. It’s about creating memories that are genuine and joyful, making your gathering a cherished one that everyone will remember fondly.
