Christmas is over, gone in a whirlwind of laughter, too much food and wrapping paper, but 2019 has arrived!
I always feel a mixture of anxiety and excitement on the 1st of January. I am excited for the year ahead, what will happen, what will I manage to achieve? But I’m also anxious that those I love stay safe, well and that they are happy. That’s my biggest wish for 2019.
This morning I woke up a little fuzzy headed, we had friends over last night to see the New Year in. We had a delicious meal. A lovely joint of beef from Cook, followed by mini desserts and an amazing bottle of champagne our friends brought over from a local vineyard. The highlight of the night must have been when my friend turned up, wearing the same outfit as me! Hilarious!! My skirt is from H&M and hers is from Lidl!
Due to lack of sleep, I’m not used to staying up past Midnight these days, we had a very cosy lazy duvet kind of day today. We literally brought our duvet down and all snuggled up on the sofa to watch Rogue One. I think this has to be one of my absolute favourite Star Wars films. Later me and Sam went out and played in the garden. It was so mild. We kicked a ball about a bit and did some messy play, painting around oak leaves. We tried to find where Tinkerbell lives but couldn’t find her anywhere. We even picked a tomato from our veggi trough – can you believe that the £4 reduced to clear tomato plant from B&Q is still bearing edible fruit!?
Right now Sam is eating his dinner whilst I am writing this and thinking of the year ahead and the year gone by. I launched my blog last year, will I manage to grow my followers or will it flop? I also launched my YouTube Channel. Will my subscribers ever get more than 50 (shameless plug, if you haven’t already please subscribe)!! Will I manage to reach the magical 10,000 followers on instagram (I have 5,500 to go – another shameless plug – sorry)! Will I be brave enough to finally finish the last bit of the children’s book I’ve been writing and send it off to agents to be rejected? Where will we travel, where will we go and what will we see?
2019 is a bit of a blank canvas at the moment. We have no plans but I’m hoping it will be a good one. My little boy turns 3, which is just incredible to think how quickly his first years have flown by. I’m going to be writing my resolutions/bucket list shortly but for now I’m wishing you all a wonderful magical 2019 and a very happy new year, let’s make it a good one!

Understand what you mean with mixed feelings about the new year. Took redundancy and finished work on the 31st December. So starting the new year by retiring early. Much trepidation at my future life, travel and adventures.

I have given up setting unrealistic targets for increasing my social media as they just don’t seem to grow like they used to these days. Good luck with the book and send it off………it might be the start of something new and exciting 🙂

Happy New Year! We had a New Year’s Eve party and made handmade pizzas in our pizza oven. It was really good fun / something a little different!

Happy New Year! It sounds like you’re the same as me on New Year’s Day. I always want to look forward to the year ahead, but I always worry that it won’t be as good as the previous year, or that something bad will happen. It’s probably stupid but I get a knot in my stomach at midnight year in year out. It’s crazy!
