As you may well know if you are a regular reader of my blog, my little preschooler, who is amazing at so many things, is not so good at sleeping. I recently published a post asking some blogger friends their top tips to get their little ones to sleep through the night.
I got some brilliant advice and there are a lot of sleep aids out on the market that seem to really support a child’s good night sleep. As such I was delighted to be gifted the Dream Pillow to see if this would help my three year old sleep more peacefully in the night.

The Dream Pillow: what’s in the box?
The Dream Pillow is presented in a gorgeous blue box. We loved opening it to discover what was inside.
Sharkie the Dream Pillow
First up was Sharkie. Sharkie is described as the bravest of all the dreamanimals who shares adventurous dreams and inspires confidence. Ideal for my son as he loves adventure but is shy so Sharkie is the perfect emotional support companion to help my son have positive dreams. Oh and did I mention he’s super soft and snuggly too, as well as being made from 100% natural cotton.
The dream pillow also comes as Lamby, another of the ‘Dreamimals’. Lamby encourages sweet dreams and calms fears. There’s also Pinkie who helps you have funny dreams and finally the Dream Pillow original which comes with a Dream Pillow story book.
Dream Pillow Idea Cards
Next in the box was the dream pillow idea cards, shaped in the form of clouds, the perfect size to either write or draw the dreams you want to have.

Dream Generator
If your child is stuck for ideas for their dream than the dream generator is great to give them inspiration. I have actually really enjoyed sitting with my son at bedtimes looking at this and discussing all the things he could dream about.
The Dream Pillow Instructions
Finally in the box there was a very helpful and detailed booklet with instructions on how the dream pillow works and how it can benefit your child.
How the Dream Pillow works
Each night during your child’s bedtime routine you sit down with your child and they write down or draw what they want to dream about that night on a cloud idea card. This helps encourage your little one to have good dreams and also is something for them to look forward to at bedtimes.
You then put the note card with your dream idea inside your Dreamimal, although my son preferred putting his under his pillow. Then just snuggle up to your Dreamimal for a good nights sleep.
Practice this positive thinking bedtime exercise and your child should be sleeping better within 2 weeks.
Our dream pillow video review
Our thoughts on the Dream Pillow
First up, my son absolutely loves his Dream Pillow. Sharkie is the perfect plush to snuggle into and to be able to put your arm through the plush is a genius idea. We’ve also really enjoyed talking about dreams and discussing what we would like to dream about in the night. Visualising the dreams and creating positive imagery has been a great addition to our bedtime routine.
My son still isn’t sleeping through the night but he is waking less and getting easier to settle. Whether related to the Dream Pillow I don’t know, but I expect so, and at just £22.94 for the dream pillow box with plush and idea cards, it’s excellent value.

We were kindly gifted the Dream Pillow in exchange for a review but all views and opinions are 100% honest and my own.
Oh what a lovely concept! The Dream Pillow is super cute – I love the smile – and I love the idea behind it. I can see why kids would love these.
Oh I love this idea. Alessia loves tons of cushions on her bed and always struggles with bad dreams. Definitely going to have a look into one of these
What a lovely idea, we have a hand knitted teddy with a zip mouth where the kids store their worries
This is such a lovely idea, I especially like the dream cards that they can write or draw their dreams or fears on
My kids would love this dream pillow. It is so cute!
