I love the idea of the Christmas Eve Box and think it’s a lovely tradition but this year I’ve also done something slightly different. For this Christmas I’ve put together a 1st December Christmas Box.
Why have a 1st December Christmas Box?
It’s genius because you still have 24 days to enjoy the Christmas goodies inside the 1st December Christmas Box. Your Christmas Elf can deliver it with your child’s advent calendar and you can fill it up with all kinds of treats.
Our 1st December box arrived on the front doorstep. The doorbell rang and my son excitedly went to see who was there. His face lit up as he exclaimed, “my Elf has arrived!” The Christmas magic had begun.

You can fill your 1st December Christmas Box with all sorts of Christmas treats. Below is some of the goodies we had in ours.
Santa’s Elf and Christmas Bag
As already mentioned our Santa’s Elf delivered my three year old son’s 1st December Christmas Box. I have a confession to make though, we’re using a Christmas bag rather than box. I bought this super large bag from the Card Factory for just £1.99. It’s lovely and Christmassy and fits everything in.
Lego City Advent Calendar
We had the Hot Wheels advent calendar last year and my husband has the Star Wars Lego Christmas Advent Calendar this year which I buy him each year for his birthday. My son is such a Big fan of Lego so the festive Lego City advent calendar was perfect for him.

Elf Letters, Reports and Award Stickers
I was kindly gifted this from Dotty About Paper and think it’s genius. Each day you fill in a report and your ‘elf’ ticks whether your child has been naughty or nice. There’s reward stickers included so your can encourage your child to be ‘nice’ not ‘naughty’. On the last day your Elf leaves a goodbye note. An absolute bargain at just £4.99 and perfect to arrive with your Elf.
Snow globe
Who doesn’t love a snow globe, especially when you’re three years old! This was bought from Card Factory for £1.99.
Christmas Books
Santa’s Magic Key is the perfect story for anyone who doesn’t have a chimney. This magical Christmas story also comes with the key to make sure Santa will be able to visit your home on Christmas Eve.
This book can be bought for lots of different names and makes Christmas more personal. It’s a lovely little story about how a child fills in for an Elf helping Santa. Santa’s Secret Elf is a great bedtime read in the run up to Christmas.
Chocolate Lolly
This needs no explanation! A little chocolate treat from the Elf.
Christmas Decorations
It’s fun to add some Christmas Decorations into the Christmas box. My son loved this reindeer and sleigh and was so excited to put it on the Christmas tree.
Your December Box
If you’ve missed the 1st December, it’s not too late to do a December box. Your Elf can still deliver a gift bag with some Christmas treats, especially if your little people are being particularly nice and not naughty. Fill it with Christmas decorations, chocolate treats, Christmas story books and Elf award charts to keep the little ones motivated to stay nice for Santa.
Christmas Eve Box
Will we still do a Christmas Eve box? Yes, likely. I’ve already bought some cosy pyjamas and Buzz Lightyear slippers for the Christmas Eve box. But by having the 1st December Christmas Box it starts the run up to Christmas off perfectly and the magic of Christmas begins!
