A Unique Experience at Brighton i360: Our Family Adventure

It was a bright, sunny day when my son and I embarked on an adventure that would take us 450 feet above the ground at the iconic Brighton i360. As we approached this architectural marvel, our eyes were drawn upwards, following the sleek lines of the tower to where our journey would take us. Stepping into the spacious glass viewing pod felt like entering a sci-fi movie. This wasn’t your average ride; it was an ultra-modern, fully enclosed, climate-controlled capsule designed for comfort and panoramic views.

The anticipation was palpable as we prepared for lift-off. As the pod smoothly ascended, we watched in awe as the cityscape of Brighton shrank beneath us. The gradual rise gave us plenty of time to drink in the stunning 360-degree views of the city, the sea, and the South Downs. My son’s face lit up as he pointed out landmarks and traced the coastline with his finger.

The Sky Bar

But the Brighton i360 isn’t just about the view. Welcome to the ‘Sky Bar,’ the loftiest bar in all of the UK! I had the Sky Bar 360 ticket so I could enjoy a beautiful glass of Nytimber while soaring above the city. Sipping my drink while gazing out at the view made the experience even more memorable.

Skate 360

Back on solid ground, my son was thrilled to discover the i360 roller skating rink, Skate 360, at the base of the tower. After our sky-high adventure, we couldn’t resist strapping on some skates and taking a few laps. It was the perfect place to teach my son how to skate with the views of the sea, West Pier and i360 as we whizzed around.

The Upside Down House in Brighton: A Whimsical Detour After Our i360 Adventure

Our adventure at the Brighton i360 left us feeling on top of the world. But the fun didn’t stop there. Just a stone’s throw away from the i360, there’s another unique attraction that turned our day out (and our perceptions) on its head. The Upside Down House!

As we strolled along the beach, an intriguing sight caught our eye. A quaint little house, painted in vibrant hues, standing quite literally upside down! It looked like it had been plucked from a fairy tale and dropped onto Brighton Beach, roof first. Stepping inside this topsy-turvy home felt like we had tumbled into another dimension. The laws of gravity seemed to have taken a vacation. Furniture hung overhead, lights jutted up from the floor, and even the toilet upside down, which my son found hilarious!

We made our way through the house, exploring each room of whimsical chaos. My son’s delight was infectious. Each room offered a new perspective and a fresh bout of laughter. The Upside Down House isn’t just a house; it’s a playground for the imagination. It’s a place where you can walk on ceilings, defy gravity, and see the world from a whole new angle. And the best part? It’s a photographer’s dream come true. Every corner is a quirky photo opportunity waiting to happen!

After our visit to the Brighton i360, the Upside Down House was the perfect encore to a day filled with wonder and discovery. It reminded us that sometimes, looking at things from a different perspective can make all the difference.

Did you know? You can get the Brighton Explorer Pass Ticket which includes both the i360 and the Upside Down House.

A Unique Dining Experience at Sixes Social Cricket Brighton

But perhaps the most unique dining experience we had was at Sixes Social Cricket Brighton. This cricket-themed restaurant combines great food with the thrill of playing virtual cricket. It’s an innovative concept that brings together sports enthusiasts and foodies alike.

The food at Sixes is just as exciting as the cricket. Their menu is packed with comforting and tasty dishes that cater to a variety of dietary preferences. Independent shops in Brighton

A trip to Brighton wouldn’t be complete without ecploring the ecletic shops of the City. Of course, you have the Lanes, which are defintiely worth an explore.

One shop that I absolutely love which is located right by the i360 is Artist-Anon Brighton. Artist Anon was created in 2012, sparked by a desire to create clothing with a distinct UK flair. Frustrated by the lack of such options, Artist Anon began designing and printing clothes from a spare room, selling them at local markets and festivals to celebrate the essence of Brighton.

In 2014, Artist Anon was given the opportunity to occupy an arch on Brighton’s seafront. This space served a dual purpose – as both a studio for creating custom t-shirts and a shop for showcasing and selling their unique designs.

By 2016, the shop’s popularity had grown to such an extent that it could no longer serve as a studio. To accommodate the expanding range of products, the studio was relocated, freeing up more space in the shop.

The designs are brilliant and you can treat yourself to some South Coast quality clothing and accessories for both adults and kids. This is one of my favoutite finds and my top tip to visit if you are heading for the i360.

Discovering the Baa-rilliant Shaun the Sheep Trail in Brighton

Brighton is currently playing host to a unique art adventure that is sure to delight both children and adults alike. The Shaun the Sheep Trail. This city-wide art trail, aptly named ‘Shaun by the Sea’, features over 40 individually designed sculptures of the much-loved children’s character Shaun the Sheep.

From September 9th until November 5th, the streets of Brighton and Hove will be dotted with these charming creations. Each sculpture is an original work of art, showcasing the creativity and talent of local artists. The trail also includes a special book bench, providing a cosy spot for visitors to sit and delve into their favourite reads.

The locations of all 42 sculptures have been carefully chosen and revealed, ensuring that visitors can embark on a comprehensive tour of Brighton while on the trail. Some of these sculptures have been placed in more isolated locations, adding an element of adventure to the trail.

But the Shaun the Sheep Trail is not just about fun and exploration. It also serves a noble cause, helping to raise funds for Martlets Hospice. Sadly, there have been instances of vandalism on some of the statues, but this has not dampened the community’s enthusiasm for the trail.

The trail was officially launched by none other than Fatboy Slim, further cementing its status as a must-visit Brighton attraction this autumn. So whether you’re a fan of Shaun the Sheep, an art enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun-filled day out in Brighton, the Shaun by the Sea trail is definitely worth checking out.
